Racing the Planet held the Brunton and Gerber sponsored "Atacama Crossing" leg of the 4 Deserts race series this past week in Chile.

The Atacama Desert in Chile is reportedly the driest place on earth. Along with being a race sponsor, we also sponsored an individual team.  Partnering with our distributor in Chile, Andes Gear, who assembled the team on the ground in Chile and stocked them with Gerber and Brunton tools for the race.  The team was known as: Team  Brunton, Gerber, Andes Gear.  One of the members, Matias, had to withdrawal from the race due to some severe injuries.  But the remaining members, Juan and Pablo did very well individually.  Juan won the last stage of the race, Stage 6 and placed 9th overall and Pablo came in 13th out of 51 competitors.

Here’s a link below to the RTP website that shows the leaderboard of the race and has links to some 900 photos of the race, including the attached photos of our team and products in use.

There are also a lot of videos from the race, including interviews with our team (in Spanish).

On a side note, Brunton athlete Dean N. Karnazes finished first overall in the competition.
